TLDR : Answer Summary
Users advise that importing large personal items into Thailand on a DTV visa can be complicated, citing that customs treats these items like regular imports without any duty-free allowances. It is often recommended to sell large items before relocating, as many essentials can be easily purchased in Thailand. Be prepared for potential import duties and consider obtaining a more suitable visa if planning to reside long-term.

It’s a tourist visa, not a long stay visa, so don’t expect any duty free import privileges. If you intend to reside in Thailand you should get an appropriate visa.

Most stuff is easy to buy in Thailand, so not needed to import

Yea, I “imported” my personal items with two suitcases 😆

Its not worth bringing big stuff from homecountry. Better to sell and but whatever you need in Thailand. And living with less “stuff” is incredibly liberating

You will not get any free allowance with the DTV visa. Your personal goods will be treated like any other imports by Customs with their whims and vagaries if shipped.
