Hi everyone,

I applied for my DTV in Kuala Lumpur on 3 August 2026. The Embassy requested additional documents on 13 August, which I submitted shortly afterwards.

It has now been over 6 weeks and my status is still “Pending Approval”. The Embassy confirmed that my application is currently “under consideration by the Consular Section”.

Has anyone recently had a similar experience with a DTV application in Kuala Lumpur?

And does anyone have a reliable contact in Kuala Lumpur who might be able to provide some information about the current processing situation?

I’d really appreciate any experiences or advice. Thanks!

Approval time is reset upon receipt of requested docs. KL can take 4 weeks or so for approval

but i am here now 6 weeks and still no answer last they told me was wait another 7 to 14 days just a bad joke...

They are not the " easiest " of embassies to deal with, hopefully you get approved soon.

You have to wait till an approval comes out. Thai Embassy, Kuala Lumpur is not very friendly to non resident.
