My plan is to take a flight to Nakhon Phanom. The question is there a bus operating from the airport straight to Savannaket? Or if I cross the border in Nakhon Phanom is there a bus on the Laos side to Savannaket?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To reach Savannaket, you can take a flight to Nakhon Phanom. However, there's no direct bus operating from the airport to Savannaket. Alternatively, after crossing the border at Nakhon Phanom, you can find bus services on the Laos side to Savannaket. Another option from Bangkok is to fly to Ubon, transfer to Mukdahan, and then cross the Friendship Bridge to Savannaket.
Do you know if there are van transport from Ubon airport to mukdahan-laos border?

Or from Ubon, take the International bus to Pakse and then a local bus to Savannakhet.

There's currently a direct flight from BKK to Savannaket on Lao Airlines, which takes about 90 minutes. It's not cheap and it might be discontinued soon.
yes i have checked already it is very expensive or/and with a long connection in Vientiane, like very long connection. So that is not an option. No direct flight either when i must to fly
