My UK based daughter, and her boyfriend, wish to visit Thailand for an extended stay.

At the moment I can't see better than a 60 + 40 Tourist Visa.

Is there anything more suitable - and, is there any way in which she could stay for, say, 7 months.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry seeks suitable visa options for a UK-based daughter and her boyfriend, who are planning to stay in Thailand for an extended period. Current considerations include a 60-day tourist visa along with a potential 30-day extension, resulting in a total of 90 days. Suggestions from commenters include exploring education visas for language schools or depending on the continuation of Covid-related extensions, which might allow a combined total stay of up to 5 months. However, there's uncertainty regarding the availability of extensions by the planned visit date.

okay, we're done. I had NO idea this wasn't happening until this December :O

There is no one that's gonna be able to tell you what the entry requirements or if they borders will be open or anything about how it will be at the end of this year. Watch the news, and play it by ear.

Right now, a tourist visa and a 30 day extension is what they have available to them.

That would depend if the covid extensions continue.

If so they could possibly stay for 5 months

60 day tr

30 day tr extensions

60 day covid extension.

Ah yes hadn’t seen him comment the dates when I first commented.

coming in March 2022, I doubt covid extensions will still be in existence then

Education visa for language school, or pray for covid extensions to continue

... I'm pretty sure no one wants to pray for covid extensions cuz that means only one thing! Better to pray for open borders to allow border bounces.

nope, nothing . .. :/ Have them get a single entry tourist visa, come here get a 60 day entry stamp, extend that by the 30 days they're allowed and during that 90 days have them look around for other long term visa options.

thank you. In normal times we would have the choice of visits to Cambodia, Vietnam etc.... can't rely on that option being available by March

"can't rely on that option being available by March" ???. . .you mean, they want to visit by March 2022 ? Nobody can tell you at the moment what the visa and border situation will be like by March next year. I recommend to check and ask again near the end of this year
