TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats and travelers discussed their experiences with dental work in Thailand, particularly regarding implants. Clinics like BIDC, Asavanant, and others were frequently recommended for quality service and modern facilities. Most users highlighted the affordability and quality of care compared to their home countries such as the US or Australia. Positive comments note the advanced training of Thai dentists, as well as the technology used. Several individuals mentioned various clinics across Thailand, including those in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and shared their successful treatments, indicating a strong community trust in Thai dental services.

My wife is getting three implants (back teeth). She's already got the anchors in and all is healed. Next step is making the teeth and screwing them in. With insurance this last step is around $10k. We've already spent around $5k. I'm wondering now if we should spend the $10k on a vacation and get the teeth made and screwed in over in Thailand.

I fell and broke 1 lower and 2 upper on the same side in the back, did a bone graph when the teeth were pulled and soon it will be time for implants. I have always wanted to go to Thailand so I thought about getting the teeth over there

I’ve been getting all my dental work done here for 20 years….much better than US, they don’t try to convince you that you need unnecessary procedures done, cost is considerably lower than US

I went to a dentist in Soi Lengke in Pattaya 8 years ago, wanting implants. He advised me against it because my gum wasn't sufficient and made me a 4 tooth porcelain bridge and a plastic full top plate. I appreciated his honest advice. I have since upgraded the plate and the bridge is still great. If I factor in the cost of the dental work, the flights from Oz and accomodation for 12 nights it is still all about

of the cost for the work Down Under and I got a holiday with my new smile.

Didn’t originally come for dental work but surgery. In Bangkok inquired a removal & implant, was quoted around $5000 US. Got a better quote by a dental university near Siam. They don’t speak English & all the work is done by students but was just under $3000 US. However as a note, this is all Thailand double standard overcharging for foreigners, cheaper to just do it in your own country.

I had work done 16 years ago in Thailand but needed a lot of work last year and Thailand, (Bangkok Phuket Hospital and B.I.D.C) pricing was over the top. End3d up having it all done in Mumbai for $10,000 AUD. Including airfares and hotels. Quoted $30,000 plus in Australia.

Excellent dental care in Thailand.

Ranks better than the US as far as outcomes, methods and materials.

They use Swiss or South Korea implants.

Even Mexico has a better outcome and cost less than the US by at least a third.

Implants are a two part operation about 4 months apart. So you need to go back there 4 months after the Angkor is put into your gums.

I had 2 implants and graphs no pain at all.

Follow the dentist medication regimen.

Do not stop the meds because you’re not in pain.

Prevent it so you don’t have to do a catch up.

My dentist in Sydney said what an excellent job was performed.

The cost was about 2300 AU dollars for both.

My US dentist wanted 14 thousand USD and my AU dentist wanted 18k AU dollars.

So true . I looked into it myself. Getting 2 implants wasn't much cheeper than it cost me in Australia. Sure you get 2 holidays but on the first one you could be in pain for 4 or 5 days .

I never traveled to Thailand specifically for dental work, but I lived in the Bangkok area for many years until recently and at various times got dental cleanings at either of the two Mahidol University-linked dental clinics. The one near Victory Monument is a big place, surely one of the biggest such establishments in Thailand; they are friendly and inexpensive (around $30 for a cleaning with plaque removal). The other one is tucked within the hospital across the road from Mahidol University itself. I had checkups and x-rays there and once got an old crown replaced; they did excellent work.

I can tell you as someone who owns a dental laboratory in the states the dental work and top end work like implants and cosmetic is top notch in Thailand. There is an implant clinic called Nobel Bio. World class in Bangkok. They do all digital presentation to you step by step. Way more modern than most dental practice in the States and the price is a fraction. Most implants in America start around 3000 per tooth. In Thailand under 1000.

I have had dental work done several times by BIDC (Bangkok International Dental Clinic), mostly dental implants. They are not the cheapest place, but still better than in the US. Six floors of dentists all part of one company; most specialize in only one thing and many are trained and certified in the US. All the latest technology and equipment. I highly recommend them.

I wouldn’t hesitate to get general dental services in the Land of Smiles. A lot of Thai dentists trained in the U.S., and I think a fair number will also have done training in Japan, Australia, and Europe. Equipment tends to be first class as well.

If you have sleep apnea (or a bad snore), Bangkok Smile (near the Asok MRT, if memory serves) is a really good place to get a mouthpiece for sleeping — one of those thingies that holds your lower jaw in a forward position while you sleep, so the airway is unobstructed.

In the U.S., that tends to be something medical and dental insurance will go back and forth on for months, with each denying they’re responsible for paying for anything. In Bangkok, since you’re paying out of pocket, you can just skip all that nonsense and get straight to treatment.

They’ll do a 3D scan of your teeth, send it to a facility in Germany to custom print your mouthpiece, and then have you come back a week or two later to pick it up and make sure it fits. When I’ve shown the result to dentists in the U.S., they tend to say things like “That’s better than what my husband has,” and then, once I tell them what it costs in Bangkok compared to New York, they start planning a family vacation to Thailand.

never but visited many dental surgeries here and much better than Australia. Unless your dental problems are severe I suggest you use google maps to find the one close to you. If bad problems then I suggest the Bangkok dental hospital or the dental surgery attached to @King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.
