Hello, I wanna do a 3rd border run this year. I’m Canadian. Someone know a good agency not too expensive who accept to do this ? I’m from Bangkok.
Answer summary
A Canadian expat in Bangkok is seeking advice on agencies for conducting a third border run, but the discussion reveals several alternative visa options like workation. The thread includes insights on visa requirements for Muay Thai training versus remote work, noting that continuous enrollment isn't strictly necessary for some visas but may improve chances of approval. Users suggest workation as a preferable option for those wishing to work remotely while in Thailand.

If you have a legit online business why not do the Workstation?

Basically every entry you might be asked to proof that you are still capable/doing what you claim you are doing.

For softpower that means: still be enrolled in a Gym.

For workation it means: still have income (or savings).

And for both: still have the 500k

And you might get asked for proof of onward travel - happens a lot lately, and showing 20k THB in cash (or equivalent currency).

Just as an FYI: You don't have to continuously sign up for muay thai classes over the 5 year duration of the visa. Once you complete the course you submit to get the visa you are done. However, it is now recommended that you sign up for a minimum of 9 months, if not a year. People are getting rejected for 6 months or are being issued a 6 month METV visa instead.

So you two idiots think you know better than the THAI EMBASSY STAFF. How dense are you?

You keep posting this stupid screenprint that NOWHERE PERMITS you to work in Thailand.

You keep insulting others, but the only idiiot here is somebody putting Khun before his name Seanny, somebody understanding Thai would never do so.

Apart from that, since when does Thai Embassy decide about Thai Labour Act?

That is a complete different department.

You go to a carpenter when you have a headache?

With your own words: How dense are you?

Why do you not proof your nonsense? That would be more simple as it seems you are convinced that you are right? You must have all the right links open in your browser or bookmarked them.

Just copy paste them here.

I've been in and out a couple of times since my 6 month cooking course was done. Now what do you have to say? Since you know so much, why don't you point me to where it says you have to be continuously enrolled in cooking classes or muay thai training to maintain your DTV? I suspect you won't be able to because there is nothing saying so anywhere.

A. Nony Mous I did drive my car to fast several times and got not fined.

In your logic that means speeding is allowed.

A. Nony Mous This forum is full with people who got grilled. You did not get grilled. Good for you.

3rd stupids answer on the internet: "did not happen to me."

Good luck, it happens soon to you. Then we see you here again crying.

The links to relevant laws were posted many times here by me and by others, but the content just is not accepted by you and your friends because you don't know how law works, or think the truth is inconvenient for you.

When a visa is issued for a specific purpose and IO checks and denies entry because you don't comply to that specific purpose at moment of entry, any judge would agree with IO.

The fact that nowhere in law explicitly is mentioned that the requirement is not only valid at moment of application but also at moment of entry does not mean it is not anymore in place after granting application, because it is not mentioned in law that the requirement is lifted at any moment.

Everyone with some intelligence should understand that visa requirements are meant for during your stay in Thailand.

A. Nony Mous Why would they make it difficult and give everybody a personalized visa. It is valid UP TO 5 yearsfor the purpose you applied for.

Very simple to understand for people with some brains.

That you don't understand such dimple logic is not my problem.

And you can pray to God as much as you want, I would never apply for a soft power visa, because it just is a joke.

@Luit ****************
😂😂😂😂 "Just because the law doesn't say it doesn't mean it isn't the law." 🤣🤣🤣

I pray to God that you are on a soft power DTV and are continuously signing up for courses. 💸💸 🙏🏿

Tell us, oh Seer of Things Not Written in the Law, what about people who were given a DTV for medical treatment? They are required to provide a treatment plan. That plan states how long the treatment is scheduled to last. Even if the plan is only to be for say 17 months the DTV is issued for a full 5 years, not just 17 months. If the DTV was only meant to be valid for the time period of the medical treatment (or cooking course or muay thai course) the DTV would have been issued for that time frame only. Is the expectation that you get sick with something new in month 18?

The same time it takes him to search the links for you: you need to search them yourself. Why would he do your leg work?

I am not here to provide links to people who don't have the IQ to understand rules themselves and also not accept information from others.
Luit *****************
Luit *****************
A. Nony Mous When you are not participating in a soft power activity, you cannot use the visa for different reasons.
A. ************
A. ************
@Luit ****************
What do you mean "you cannot use the visa"? The visa's duration is 5 years. There is nothing written anywhere that says you have to be continuously enrolled in the soft power activity you used to get the visa. If there is, please provide a link to an official government site that says so.
Luit *****************
Luit *****************
A. Nony Mous You applied for the visa for a speciific purpose, you expect them to tell you that is is not valid without that specific purpopse?

How difficult is that to understand?

Just read the general immigration rules in the Immigration Act, and you will find that Immigration can check if you have correct visa.

But maybe when IO checks you, ask IO for a link...

Soft power and workcation are getting denied left and right, it just depends on who's looking at your paperwork and where you apply, everyone here has different experiences you can't rely on Thailand bureaucracy. It's a third world country.
Khun ******

Up to you how you apply but all DTV holders can work remotely. Don't worry about that.

Or LTR for remote workers, but of course only when you work for an eligible company.

The answer is in your question. You don’t want to commit to a gym so don’t go muay thai route? Easy
Tim ******

You don’t need to commit to a gym. You don’t even Need to pay for 6 month in advance. I only showed prior enrollments at Muay Thai gyms in Thailand and fights I did in Germany, England and Thailand stating iam planning to train full time at a small gym in Ubon Ratchathani. If you can Proof you truly committed to the sport and don’t try to game the system you will be fine….

Go with Muay Thai if you genuinely wanna focus on it.

If you can do worktation do that.

Then you can train at the gym you want to not just a dtv only gym.
