I will be retiring to Krabi in July. Can anyone recommend an area in Krabi where I can live close enough to access to street food but still have a place that feels like I am living immersed in nature.
Ps. If this is not the appropriate forum for this question. Can you please recommend a group where this question would be relevant. Thanks again. 😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking recommendations for areas in Krabi to retire, specifically looking for locations that provide access to street food while maintaining a natural atmosphere. Community responses suggest exploring nearby villages that offer local restaurants similar to street food, mentioning specific places like Koh Lanta and Klong Muang as suitable options. Suggestions also highlight the contrast between quieter areas and more developed towns like Krabi Town for additional amenities.

Klong Muang is a beach town but very quiet compared to Ao Nang. You can live nearby and it's quite natural.
Krabi Town is also pleasant if you want more civilization.

Just up the road a little, Koh Lanta.

There will be villages near places of nature. I live in one and there are local restaurants and noodle shops in every village. Same food as street food. I’m assuming you are talking about Krabi province not just Krabi Town.

Thanks everyone. I will look into instagram and koh jam. Both sound like promising places for best of both worlds. Lol.
I do see your point. I suppose California has me spoiled. Cant wait to explore soon!
Yup. Stay in town and day trip around before you decide, Marc. Those two things don’t coexist anywhere. I’ve been to koh jam several times and enjoyed it.

Most will suggest you visit Thailand 2 times for 3 weeks each ….then you can find out where you want to live and would have the answer to your question …
