TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking recommendations for a relaxed stay just outside of Bangkok, wanting a place with some nightlife and dining without much hassle. Comments suggest various locations such as the Soi Rambuttri area and Sukhumvit Road, mentioning specific spots like Hopeland Hotel and Lenix Hotel, alongside popular nightlife areas like Khaosan Road and Nana Plaza. Additionally, Nonthaburi and Kanchanaburi are mentioned as reachable options for a short trip.

I have been travelling (and volunteering) to Thailand since 1978; some years 4 times! I have many Thai friends so am very fortunate indeed to have experienced rural and city areas.
