Im talking to Master Toddy's Muay Thai school about taking a 6 month course. I don't exactly want to apply for the DTV. If they help me apply for the course using the Education Visa. What options do I have to have my wife + 4 kids accompany me? We've been in Thailand already since July 5, leaving Sept 1 (Visa exempt 60 days) and wanting to apply while Im gone unless the ED visa or other visa don't require you to leave before applying like the dtv requires.

Just looking for a little additional guidance and suggestions. Thanks.
Summary so far
The user is considering enrolling in a 6-month Muay Thai course at Master Toddy's school and is exploring visa options. They prefer not to apply for a DTV visa and inquire about the possibility of enrolling under an Education Visa while having their wife and four children accompany them. Comments highlight that an Education Visa for informal schooling does not support dependents and that applying for such a visa while already in Thailand requires sufficient time remaining on their current visa. Suggestions also include exploring alternative options like the DTV for the spouse and considering options in nearby countries for visa applications.

Good morning. Valid question. Some dolts are not interested in anything more than spewing their own hidden traumas and sarcasm. Don’t be discouraged 🥰 When I found the right group, answers were informative and were spot on. Some groups are gender, age, race specific. Find your safe spot and always rely on information from the immigration office first. Hope this helps. Don’t allow negative energy to even enter your aura.

If you get an ED visa based on Muay Thai, your wife and children have no options. An education visa based on informal schooling does not support dependants.

You also don't have enough time left to try and do an in-country conversion, as you must have about a month left on your permission to stay when you apply for an ED visa inside of Thailand.

thank you, this is helpful. Are you familiar with any info coming out of Ho Chi Minh city in regards to people applying for visas there? Being that I've been here going on 2 months would I have issues applying for an METV and entering again?

I have thought about the DTV and have 700k baht plus residual income but from my understanding applying for the DTV for dependent I need to show 500k baht x 6. Or if my finances can sponor my dependents. Im not sure if I correctly understand that requirement.

SkilledLynx4998 There are reports that both Laos and Vietnam have been approving METV for non-residents, which used to be impossible. I don't know what the timeline is for such approvals though.

Each embassy handles dependent DTV finances differently, so you would need to research what's required where you plan on applying. There's a DTV Facebook group that would have more information.

Best suggestion. Go home! Or get the correct visa for you and your family's stay. Studying Muay Thai isn't a suitable option

Steve Greir I don't care about staying in Thailand long term, Im more focused on studying muay thai and want to do so for about 6 months. Been in n out of Thailand many times over the last 13 years don't need to live here forever

SkilledLynx4998 You could apply for the Muay Thai and have your spouse apply for the DTV and take cooking classes. It doesn’t cost much.
