Should I expect more pushback from Thai immigration given my high entry frequency on a DTV visa?

Im American and average 20-30 entries per year into Thailand on the DTV (remote work). 24 entry stamps in 2025. Already 21 entries this year in 2026 and estimating to hit 30 by the end of the year.

Yesterday for the first time ever, the immigration officer asked me why I was constantly in and out of Thailand (some of my stays here are less than a day and my business trips span anywhere from 3-30 days in length). I told them it’s my home base and I travel for business and when she asked what industry, I said shipping. That was that and I was stamped in after that. I’ve never been asked to show proof of funds or any paperwork.

Curious if anyone else is in a situation like me and if I should expect more pushback going forward?
Answer summary
An American expat shares their experience of frequently entering Thailand on a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa), with 30 expected entries in the current year. After being questioned by an immigration officer for the first time about their travel habits, they seek advice on whether to expect more scrutiny on future entries. Responses from the community included reassurances that the officer's curiosity was normal and varied perspectives on the likelihood of facing more questions in the future.

Thailand is now a regressive country. Don't ask about the future, look at the very distant past and you'll know what's ahead for cooked af Thailand.

Why is everyone always immediately in attack mode in this group?

Someone asks a totally normal question and a lot of you get snappy.

What for???

And yes if I was the IO I would ask you too out of interest. They probably don’t see too many people with that travel history. Remember IOs are also just people

That was my thought. I just wanted peoples experience, since I don’t know anyone else with a DTV with as many entries/same pattern as myself, and this is a big group with a lot of experienced people.

if I met you at a pub I would ask that question and ask what you do for a living.

You're prepared for questions and are getting your new 180 day stamp on each entry. Enjoy your 5 years of the DTV visa 🤗

I would also be curious. I average 6 stamps per year and so far no problem

45 entries and you get questioned on one, no pattern is evolving.

Impossible to predict when not if you will be questioned again in the future. So far I had no questions but I do expect at some point to be questioned. It is random

Make the most of that young energy, I used to love that much travel, now I just do 6 month stints, age really slows it all down.

Full first year on DTV; average 15 entries. Not a single question asked. And some of my trips abroad have been less than 24 hours.

Very high frequency, but I wouldn't worry about it.

I feel like this answers all the questions on all the visa pages - they just want to make sure you're improving the economy and not somehow draining it?
