Hi everyone. I applied for a DTV in Cambodia and received it while I was in Thailand. I need to fly out to get a stamp in my passport (I have seven border runs). Question: should I buy a green channel, or can I easily go through customs and get a DTV stamp in my passport? Has anyone else had any problems with this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the challenges and risks of re-entering Thailand after obtaining a DTV visa while physically present in Thailand. Users express concerns about potential scrutiny from immigration officials regarding the validity of the visa due to the timing of its issuance. Recommendations include going through customs without declaring items, but cautioning against certain practices that might attract attention, such as visiting immigration offices in Thailand. Some users share personal experiences and advice on minimizing risks.
Anyway, guys. Be careful at the border with a case like mine. It was much more expensive than the green corridor. They really scolded me for going to Cambodia on a Border Run.
Avoid going to any immigration offices within Thailand (not at border crossings). I have heard of immigration officers cancelling people’s DTV if they work out that you were inside Thailand when it was issued. Immigration at the airport or other border crossings on arrival could do the same. But they are less likely to scrutinise the passport since they have less time. It’s still a risk but you have no other option.
The only problem might occur when IO sees the rules for applying visa were ignored and applicant did not wait for the decision, but more likely there will be no problems.
I wonder if Immigration, after your return to Thailand, will figure out that you have been in Thailand while the visa was being processed. Let us know. I will put my money on Immigration.
well, it may happen without being posted anywhere. I'd say, Immigration has the tools to check situations like that, its up to them if they enforce it or not.
Did you apply for the visa whilst being in Thailand ? How did you get around the stamp showing where you are ? I've heard of a few people doing this now
Anonymous participant agh yes ok understood I am looking to do a similar thing . From what I understand you can just leave from an airport and fly back in the next day with your visa to activate it
In theory you should not have a problem but you should not have been in Thailand when the visa was issued, you should have remained in Cambodia, so not sure if they will have something to say about that.
Yes they may see the travel back to Thailand before the DTV was issued and revoke his DTV. I’ve read of that here somewhere but it was when the person went for their 90 day report and had their DTV revoked. As I’ve always read one must wait till their DTV is approved to return to Thailand.
