Is there a recent COVID extension for visas in Thailand, and how can my daughter apply before the August 24 deadline?

My daughter has a COVID extension stamp which expires at the end of August. I heard that there is a new round of extensions being done, that has to be stamped before August 25. Can anyone confirm if this update is accurate and if they've had their stay extended again this month? Any input on this would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of a recent COVID extension for their daughter's visa, which is set to expire at the end of August. They mention that a new round of extensions must be stamped before August 25. A comment confirms the actual deadline is August 24, indicating that such extensions are dependent on the immigration office's discretion.

Actual date is August 24th. Covid extensions have always been at the behest of the immigration office(r) so no guarantees that she'll get one.

I was also wondering if you knew if it's possible to convert to a Non-Immigrant (ED) visa on this COVID extension stamp.

@Purnima *****
it was posted at the Chiang Mai immigration office that Covid extensions are only for visa exempt or tourist visas. So it’s extremely unlikely

in theory it should be but that will be up to the school you’re joining and the immigration office they use.
