TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reports that they completed a border run overland to Cambodia and received a TM6 form upon their return to Thailand. They had thought the TM6 was discontinued, but their experience indicates it is still issued at land borders, despite being temporarily discontinued for air arrivals.

No, they haven't been discontinued at land borders. Only discontinued at airports for now.

I paid in Thai baht, although I heard recommendation that us dollar is the preferred currency, was told by the "police" that 2000 was required,I must admit that I didn't do any homework until I had left and am still unsure what the correct price should be,a 30day visa was issued and that was that, som nam na on me if the price was too much ,not sure what you mean about where from, the border called Chong chom in Thailand and once across the border the "village"is called O'Samach..

You got massively ripped off. The Cambodian tourist visa costs US$30 and when I last crossed there 2 months ago (yes, at O'Smach) I paid this exact amount. At first the officer wanted US$35 but I asked "isn't it US$30? Since US$35 is for an ordinary visa, which I don't need this time" and he happily obliged.

the nearest city to the border run I did is Surin..about 60km from there is the border, plenty of regular mini buses leave from Surin bus station every day,60 baht to the border, and they just return to Surin with the people who have left Cambodia..hope that helps..
