Hello everyone! For the DTV, if I need to travel abroad every month for my import-export business to China, would it be easy to enter and exit Thailand that frequently, or should I consider another visa option?

(My child will be attending school here, and the school only provides a visa for one parent)

Thank you guys
Answer summary
The DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) is a suitable option for those needing to travel frequently, such as for an import-export business. It allows multiple entries over five years without additional re-entry permits, making it convenient for business travel to China. Comments suggest that as long as the visa purpose is accurately stated, entering and exiting Thailand monthly should pose no issues, although initial entries may involve some questioning. It's advisable to prepare necessary documentation proving the nature of your business and relationship with Thai entities.

For an import-export business with frequent monthly travel, the DTV Visa (Destination Thailand Visa) is actually one of the best options available.

Why DTV works well for your situation:

Multiple Entries: It is valid for 5 years and allows unlimited entries. You can travel back and forth to China as often as you need without any issues or extra paperwork at Immigration.

No Re-entry Permit Needed: You don't need to apply for a Re-entry Permit every time you leave Thailand.

Great for Families: Since the school only covers one parent under a Guardian Visa (Non-O), having a DTV allows you to legally stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per entry (extendable for another 180 days) alongside your family.

Alternative Option:

If you plan to formally register a corporate entity and pay local taxes in Thailand, a Non-B Visa with a Work Permit is another route. However, for cross-border business and international travel, the DTV is far more convenient and cost-effective.

Yes, it's perfect, unless you qualify for another better visa.

Have copies of all your submission documents.

Guess you mentionned it the documents that you are working for a Chinese company and have no sales in Thailand (maybe ask for this statement to your company).

OP
Elías Molina I have heard that a lot of people had trouble with immigration when entering multiple times in a year, is that true?

FocusedMango7714 Absolutely not. Rather the opposite- those encountering trouble are the ones who spend as little time as possible outside the country. Those who do same day border runs are sometimes turned away or questioned and grilled at immigration.

FocusedMango7714 I can't talk for the others. In my case zero troubles. Some months I've traveled even three times in the same month 🤷🏻

Elías Molina That's the way a DTV is supposed to be used. I do the same as you. 2-3 trips in some months, 1 trip a month in others, rarely no trip for up to 3 months.

If you mentionned correctly the purpose of your DTV Visa, should be not a problem.

But be prepared that the first times they will question you. After you are in the system and you get your 180 days stamp in without questions.

In theory not a problem with a DTV but where is your import/export located? Can you run it entirely remotely and have zero interaction with Thai entities or customers inside Thailand?
