# Was DTV package refundable at your case?

Hi everyone. Hope your stay in Thailand is great :)

I am currently visiting Thailand as a tourist and considering applying DTV through Muay Thai at the gym nearby Maya mall (note: I was rejected once under remote workers).

When I visited to that gym, I asked an owner if package fee (around 30kTHB) is refundable in case my application get rejected. I understand applying fee 10kTHB would not be refundable.

And their answer was "you will apply until you get DTV like changing applying countries. we won't charge you extra fees".....

I was a bit confused. I don't think applying it again and again in a short term looks a good tactic.

I would prefer course/package fee will refund if I couldn't get DTV.

To DTV holders with soft power package: What was your case?
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around the refundability of the DTV package fee (approximately 30,000 THB) when applying for a visa through a Muay Thai gym in Thailand. The consensus among users indicates that refunds are generally unlikely unless the application is rejected due to errors made by the gym. Many emphasize that obtaining refunds can be difficult in Thailand, and it is advised to check specific gym policies. While some gyms may offer partial refunds (excluding application fees), others follow strict non-refund policies. Users recommend considering trustworthy agents for better success rates in visa approvals.

You are signing up for Muay Thai lessons. The visa paperwork is simply a bonus, and not getting the dtv does not mean you can't go to your classes. No refund.

Plenty of places will give you a refund except for the application fee 350$.

If it says refundable in their advertising, provided you’ve read the fine print and satisfy the requirements, then you’re entitled to a refund under Thai law. Yes this is Asia, but Thailand still has consumer protection laws believe or not. Not refunding when you satisfy the conditions is a scam. You can force a refund by calling 1441 and have the government ministry force a chargeback to your account. This would be difficult if you didn’t pay by transfer, however.

The rejection guarantee would be based solely on the training center's paperwork.

we used to do that but in the last 18 month it became more difficult to establish the reason it was rejected so we now refund whatever the reason in the interest of fairness.

thanks. What everyone focuses on is that the gym might be dodgy but Noone actually realizes how many skanky customers we get trying to game us and get our documents, get the visa then ask for a refund. We are fair decent and honest but have to have caveats to stop people taking advantage of us.

No, only refundable if it was rejected due to a mistake in the documents of the muay gym itself. But don't come to Thailand if refundable things are important to you. Pretty much nothing is refundable

No, the gym probably won’t give you a refund being that they’ve already put together the packet with the papers that you would need from them to go along with getting the DTV

gyms specifically offer and additional fee to make it refundable. 5-10k for an hours admin(probably less as they are experienced in the process) .. they aint charging for the time its the insurance

Highly unlikely you’ll get a refund. That’s not standard practice, since they have no leverage over your application only their own paperwork.

Learn this early: Thai businesses would rather go out of business than give you a refund. It could be 30 baht or 30,000 baht. It doesn't matter. Refunds here are just as rare as flying buffaloes.

If you have all the necessary documents and funds for a remote worker DTV, apply again in another country.

My case was that I applied by my self, approved the first application. But that was back in the days, with nowadays strictness I would have used an agent instead of the gym. Find a good agent that is trustworthy might cost you a bit more but higher chance to get it approved. And many offer refund (not application fee). Good luck
