TLDR : Answer Summary
Thai Smile Airways, a subsidiary of Thai Airways, is generally regarded as a budget-friendly option for domestic flights. Users have shared mixed reviews; while some found it satisfactory with included luggage allowances, others noted issues with flight cancellations and delays, especially before the COVID-19 pandemic. It is recommended to compare prices with other carriers, as occasionally Thai Smile fares may not be the lowest. Overall, experiences suggest reliability for short trips, and efficiency at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Depends on your destination. There are other possibilities suggest you look at all the alternatives very easy to do .Flights either go from Suvvy or Don Mueng
Used SMILE domestically as opposed to Thai Airways internationally for years. Never had a cancellation or problem. Most recently Phuket-BKK, BKK-Udon Thani Oct 15. Booked thru Skyscanner.net and noticed each of these flights was £10 cheaper if booked as a Thai Airways flight and not Thai Smile; same flight though. I also prefer Suvarnabhumi to Don Muang which is usually more crowded and chaotic. Immigration also have a bad reputation there although u dont deal with them if flying domestically.
I now fly NOK Air, they’ve never let me down. I’ve never been canceled or delayed. Air Asia, Thai and Thai Smile are un dependable and never on time plus cost.
