Is it safe to get a re-entry visa at Suvarnabhumi Airport instead of at immigration?

Hi all. I'm just checking to see if it's safe getting my re entry visa at the suvarnabhumi rather than spending half a day at immigration. I understand the office is closed from 24.00 - 05.00, but I will be arriving around 08.00, so no issues there. It's more a concern as to whether it's still running and whether it's reliable. And, just check I need 1000 + possible 200, a T8 form, a photo, and copy of my passport's front page and last entry stamp. Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ˜€

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether it's safe and reliable to obtain a re-entry visa at Suvarnabhumi Airport instead of the immigration office. Users confirm that both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports have re-entry permit counters open 24 hours. One user shares their experience of processing the permit quickly without needing a photo or copies of documents. Others advise arriving early to allow ample time for the process, noting that there can be waiting times. Overall, many contributors reassure that obtaining the visa at the airport is a viable option.

We went through last week. You need to check in as it's moved inside and next to passport control. My gf paid 1200 and didn't need photo or any copies. Process took about 15 minutes all up

, so it's moved inside. Is it just a one desk operation? I think I saw it when I flew home last June.

Thanks for all your help guys. I also understand that you need to check in before you can process the re entry visa, so my plan is check in 3 hours before boarding and then go straight to get my re entry visa. Hopefully this allows plenty of time for any hiccups

The last time I had a photo ready and they dismissively waved it off saying "no need!" Only thing I would caution is at the airport, give yourself at least 1.5 hrs for re-entry permit before your boarding time because now they make you wait in a separate queue next to the immigration queue for quite a while. I nearly missed my flight because it took them almost half an hour to get me the permit.

I've got one 3 times at BKK with no problems. Make sure you have a photo as sometimes the photo machine is broken and they send you back outside to get one. Usually they just do everything for a 200 baht compulsory fee. It's up to you to weigh up the risk of it not being available and losing your permission to stay vs time at immigration.
