Was looking to apply for my DTV while I'm at work in Taiwan but heard from one of the guys at work it's difficult here with the embassy being in the Philippines, there being awkward making it over complicated with documents. Anyone done it here in Taiwan or had a better experience somewhere else close by like Malaysia, Indonesia so on? Thanks for the advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking advice on applying for a Thai DTV visa while in Taiwan, highlighting concerns about the embassy's location and the complexity of the process. Comments reveal that applying from Taipei is generally manageable, as it primarily requires business registration and proof of income. Some participants recommend applying from other countries like Indonesia and Vietnam for a potentially easier experience, while clarifying that the Thai Trade and Economic office in Taipei is linked to the Philippine embassy for administrative purposes.
I think they mean that the Trade and Economic office in Taipei uses the authority of the Thai Embassy in Manilla to issue Thai visas. It is not an official consulate. Manilla Embassy stamp is found on paperwork issued from there.Does not make much difference to administration as Taipei still issues DTV in a day.
Malaysia is the most demanding embassy for DTV approval. I got mine in Taipei, it is not really difficult, they focus very much on showing business registration, prove of income - 6 months of statements with income deposits highlighted. No seasoning required. If you are ok with paperwork it is fine. You should check the main DTV FB group, loads of posts from Taipei applicants to get tips from. Indonesia, Vietnam are very good places to apply from.
