TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the challenges and processes Thai nationals face when applying for a U.S. tourist visa. For the original poster's wife, who has strong ties to Thailand (property ownership, independent income, and travel history), the chances of approval seem optimistic, despite some concerns about recent restrictions and increasing visa application difficulties. Several commenters shared personal experiences and advice, noting that a well-prepared application with clear documentation of ties to Thailand is crucial for success.

With her travel history, properties, and finances, she has strong ties to Thailand, which helps a U.S. tourist visa. Processing usually takes a few weeks.

WOA Woa woa mate. Don't travel there. ICE will arrest you as soon as you get off the plane and stick you in jail. Under Trumps orders, they will torture you before they deport you.

Yes we did. Application. Don't check the tourist - medical slot.

Check the business - tourist slot.

Make sure the holiday. Plane tickets are returning like in 2 months. The letter. Make sure it says returning to thailand in the beginning of letter. And the end of letter. And her interview she speaks well and she's returning to work her familys business, farm or whatever but returning.

We did 10 months ago. 1 yr. Then redid last week 10 yr recieved. Also I did and her did the application. All took a little time but pretty well basic.

Most of the advice here is wrong...under the current Trump Administration...it is very hard to get a visa to the US....Thailand is one of many countries with additional added restrictions placed.

Getting a U.S. tourist visa for your wife through the U.S. Embassy Bangkok is generally very achievable with her profile, and it’s not considered especially difficult if everything is presented clearly. The main decision is based on whether the officer believes she will return to Thailand after the trip, and in her case she already has strong supporting factors such as property ownership, independent income, and a solid travel history to Europe, all of which significantly strengthen her application. Being a TikToker is not an issue as long as her income is explained properly as a legitimate source of earnings. The process typically takes around two to six weeks from application to decision, depending on interview availability, and if approved, the passport is usually returned within a few days. The biggest risks are not her background but how the case is presented—vague answers, inconsistent information, or stating a long stay like two months without a clear plan can lead to refusal under Section 214(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. A more effective approach is to present a shorter, well-defined trip of two to three weeks with a clear itinerary, supported by documents showing her ongoing work and assets in Thailand, as this aligns strongly with what U.S. officers look for when approving tourist visas.

Yes it's possible and while nothing is guaranteed, your wife is likely to be approved. The denial rate for Thai nationals applying for a U.S. tourist visa is roughly 22–25%, which means the majority are approved.

The most common reasons for denial are lack of strong ties to Thailand and limited travel history. As your wife has both, there's a solid chance she would be approved but nothing is guaranteed.

Just apply and show as much proof as you can, bank statements, home title, or whatever shows your wife will come back. Not guaranteed though, you never know. I’ve been to Europe many times and still got rejected for a visa.

You had got to be the most ignorant thing I seen on the internet today. My Thai wife and her friends have traveled back and forth between USA and Thailand a lot this year and had no problems with customs, border patrol or ICE not one has been even questioned by ICE. If you do your due diligence and stay out of blue sanctuary cities you don’t have to worry about crime.

The current government is NOT tourist friendly…dumb fcuks just before the World Cup. even i had my phone seached when i returned from Thailand….never in the 26 years ive been commuting to Thailand plus international travel weekly for work. Brook Powers erhmm.. it's not so-called liberals that have ICE shooting people in the streets, for no apparent reason, and using extreme force on their own citizens. It's not them either that makes ICE arrest people and strip them of every right without any kind of reason other than not "looking American". Not even a phone call they get. No attorney. No nothing. Some kept for weeks and months with zero rights.

For immigration (entry), they want your full history of social media before even letting you enter, and if you ever wrote ANYTHING bad about trump or the republicans, well.. You are not getting in.

How are them apples?

Scooter let’s put the blame on who it belongs, paid agitators interfere with lawful law enforcement duties and attempt to kill a police officer with their car hitting the officer and was shot, another armed agitator was shot interfering for the second time after smashing in another ice vehicle. The majority of shootings are caused by police trying to use their cars as weapons. A study was done and it was found if people followed the law, provided their papers when asked didn’t interfere with police doing their duty didn’t try to run over cops they didn’t get shot. See how that works.

Mark Colcord last I checked many people have trouble with immigration in Thailand too- police checkpoints and AI surveillance everywhere. I could go on but it’s 100x more a police state here. Many accept it willingly - at least the USA has rights and ways for its citizens to assert them.
