Hi. I have a single thai savings account keeping the 800k as well as monthly xfers of 65k. I regularly draw from the 65k for living expenses with a debit card.
I would like to seperate these to 2 different accounts so the 800k is 100% safe.
If I go to the bank and ask for a second account, is it important to keep the 800k in the same account? Or will immigration accept seeing it bump over to the other account?
I ask because of the debit card - if I should request one for the new account or if they tell me to use the one card for the current account. Hope that makes sense. I will ask the same question at the bank but welcome any pointers here for immigration purposes. Thanks
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether they can separate their 800k baht savings used for visa purposes into a different bank account while maintaining monthly transfers for living expenses. They are concerned about whether this separation will affect their immigration status and if they need to keep the funds in one account for visa compliance. Responses suggest that keeping the 800k in the same account may be safer to avoid complications, as even minor discrepancies can lead to visa extension denials. Opening a second account for day-to-day expenses is a common practice among expats.
