How should I format my name when applying for a visa at the Vientiane embassy?

I've searched the group and did find some answers for other embassies, but I am looking for clarity specially for Vientiane embassy about where exactly to include the middle name.

I hold a US passport and the MRZ shows my name (John Paul Smith) as follows:

P<USASMITH<<JOHN<PAUL<<<<<<<<<<

When I upload my passport details page, the DTV application process automatically puts SMITH in the last name field, PAUL In the middle name field and JOHN in the first name field. (This is correct in my opinion, but wanted some assurance).

Will that work for Vientiane embassy or should I manually change the First Name field to JOHN PAUL?

Sorry, this might seem obvious, but I just don't want my application fee going down the drain for wrong name format.
