Hi there,

I got a job offer in Thailand so I'm applying for a visa. We still didn't sign any contract so I'm not officially employed. How do you think I should answer this question? Because if I choose "no" it says that I'm not applying for the right type of visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is unsure how to respond to a visa application question about employment status, as they have received a job offer but have not signed a contract yet. Commenters suggest entering Thailand on a visa-exempt basis, signing the contract, and applying for a NON-B visa through the employer. They clarify that if applying for a NON-B, the employer must provide necessary documentation, including a work permit application (WP3). It's also mentioned that one can remain on a NON-B visa for 90 days while finalizing paperwork.

Don’t mention anything about employment unless applying for a Non B. Usually people come in on visa exempt and the school will do the paperwork and you’ll usually have to leave the country (usually to one close by) to get the correct visa. You’ll also need to have your documents officiated in your home country. The process changed somewhat recently. I’m not sure how it works specifically anymore.

You haven't stated what you are applying for.

If you are trying to apply for a non-b the company has to supply the correct papers including a wp3 basically a promise of a work permit.

You would then be granted a 90 day non-b visa which gives you the time to get the WP and then the company will arrange the 1 yr extension.

IF the company falls thru you are allowed to stay the entire 90 days on the non-b.

I'll be an English teacher in private school. I saw that's also a purpose of visit. Should I choose it or should I choose employment?

Just come in on Visa exempt, sign your contract and apply for Non B and work permit through your employer.
