How much do visa agents charge for paperwork assistance in Thailand, and how can I find a reliable one?

I'm setting up my 900k Baht deposit in June so it's fully seasoned. Since the hard part (the money) is done, what are agents charging these days just for the paperwork and process? Any tips to find a reliable one in Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The cost for hiring a visa agent in Thailand can vary. Some agents charge around 10,000 Baht to handle paperwork for NON-O visa extensions, while others might charge up to 12,500 Baht for services including re-entry permits. However, many users suggest doing the applications and paperwork yourself, as the process is relatively straightforward and can be completed in a short time, typically taking around 30 to 40 minutes at immigration. Necessary documents include a bankbook with seasoned funds, proof of residence, and other specific items which can be confirmed by visiting local immigration offices. Community members emphasize the ease of the process and recommend utilizing online resources or directly contacting the immigration office for assistance rather than relying on agents.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.

Why pay an agent???

The process and paperwork is easy and will only cost you 1900 baht.

Peter O'Connor has already listed out requirements. All immigration offices are very helpful.

Once you have done it, you will wonder what the agents do for their money.

I do it myself now. My first year I used an agent in Hua Hin. Now im in Sakon Nakhon province. It takes 30 to 40 minutes normally. 90 day report is like a 5 or 10 minutes. Areas saturated with falangs is another story. Might be a half or full day if you do it yourself. It really depends which office your using.

you use own funds, well, F.S. Consulting Co in Pattaya will charge 12.500 Baht for their service to apply for take care of the paperwork and the extension and for the application to a re-entry permit . . . . But why would you? I am doing this all by myself since 17 years. Bankbook, bank letter for 200 Baht, 1900 Baht application fee . . . I am done and dusted on my Immigration within 20-25 minutes

An agent I know in Hua Hin charges

Inc visa fee to process the application if the money is in place already. In and out in minutes, big advantage in high season as queues can be hours long.

3. Make a deposit and update bank book same day you go to Immigration

4. Photo of you outside your home

5. GPS coordinates of your home printed out

6. Copy of Non O and past extensions from passport.

7. Photo of yourself

If you already have the 90 day Non-O visa, already have a Thai bank account with seasoned funds, why not just go to immigration and apply for the extension yourself

Why do you want to pay for an agent

Go to local immigration office and ask what their requirements are

It’s not rocket science just different offices have different requirements

You’re more than halfway there

My IO wanted bank book updated that day

Phone number registered to passport

Residence proof ie hotel. Condo. Girlfriend house proof

And of course non O visa
