How many times can you travel in and out of Thailand on a DTV visa without issues?

How often do you travel in and out of Thailand on a DTV visa? I'm planning to relocate permanently, but I'll be leaving the country and returning to Europe for a week in every two months. That's 6 or 7 entries to Thailand per year. Does anyone else doing like this? Do you encounter any problems with the immigration control at the airport? I know that according to the rules, no one should have a problem, but what does it look like in practice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling in and out of Thailand on a DTV visa generally does not present issues, as this visa allows for multiple entries. Many expats report smooth experiences at immigration, with no restrictions on the frequency of travel. Several users shared that they have made numerous trips (up to 20 times a year) without problems, indicating a commonly accepted practice. It's noted that while there are no official limits, frequent travelers may attract attention, but genuine visa holders typically don't face significant difficulties.

I probably did that is the last year. I am supposed to work 6 months thailand and six months Japan but i have traveling alot for work while i was in thailand. I was in thailand for 5 days then left again to UAE for a month then back to thailand for 2 weeks then to Japan. Maybe 10 trips this year.

This is exactly what the Visa was designed for.

I'm doing the same, in and out every 2 months. So far no issues, and have never been "questioned", even under the latest increased scrutiny.

Do you understand what the words Multi Entry mean???

I suppose it would be possible to enter on 365 consecutive days in one year on the DTV, but then you'd be spending a lot of time and money on leaving the country each day too

and exiting each day will not leave much time for soft power activity or remote work.

That’s kind of the whole point of the DTV… it’s a multi entry visa.

What exactly is the question?

I’ve been almost 20x out and in during the last year. You show your passport and visa, the stamp your passport and write a date 6 months from that day and hand you your passport back.

This is literally what the DTV is for.

Anonymous participant 142 technically it's a tourist visa though and stating the intention of relocating permanently might get one in trouble

Participante anónimo 892 "literally what it's for"= traveling in and out of Thailand at will. I don't they they were referring to permanent relocate. Needless to say, 5 years are far from permanent.

You can in and out as much as you can cross immigration lines, there's no limit in the book. However, if you do too much, some eyebrows will raise, following by a personal protocol in a private office of a senior official 😄 However, if you are a genuine traveler, you don't have to worry about anything.

As you say there should be no issue. I have done similar on different visas. I was in and out on Visa Exempt 4 to 6 times a year when working in Belgium. Up and down 8 to 10 times a year when working in Singapore. When working in Thailand travelled about every 6 weeks. They have periodic tightening up but for genuine travellers, visitors and visa holders there are no issues.
