Any personal experiences how long it took you to receive your online O-A (long stay) visa from date of submission at various European embassies and consulates? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the varying processing times for the online O-A (long stay) visa at different European embassies, emphasizing that these times can differ significantly based on the specific embassy. One comment mentions that the UK embassy processed it in less than 2 weeks, while others suggest contacting the embassy directly for precise information.

Too broad. Say which embassy you'll be using. You can only get the OA visa from your home country so which is it?

Every embassy has different processing times.

Yes you can do that but remember you will only be stamped in up to the expiry date of your insurance, so perhaps revise the insurance before you border bounce so you get the full year

Brandon Thurkettle I am using the embassy in Budapest/Hungary. On the phone I was told 15 working days for O-A but TR visas rarely take longer then 4-5 days there. Also I got my last O-A from them, before the online system was introduced, in 5 days. Date of issue is important for me because I will want to use this visa also next year, just before it will expire, to max it out for 2 years. Thank you.

I think they'll always tell you the "maximum" time to cover themselves if there's any delay. Though Monday is a Thai holiday and it's difficult to know what Thai holidays the embassies observe

Exactly how I see it. I think I will just take my chances with 10 working days, as I know my docs are complete and solid. In case the visa does come late, do you think it is possible that I take my flight anyway, enter visa excempt and once the visa arrives I do a run to “activate” it? Thank you!

yes many people do that if their visa arrives late.

I am one of those..last year. Just ensure you have proof of a ticket out before visa exempt expires..do the extension ..then initiate actual visa by border crossing/return bearing in mind you submit actual visa # and paper copy which was emailed upon award from Thai Embassy.
