Does anyone have experience with immigration at Krabi airport? Would this be considered a ‘friendly’ entry point or not?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the experiences with immigration at Krabi Airport, questioning its friendliness as an entry point. While some users suggest that it can be manageable and relatively friendly, they advise being prepared with necessary documents to smooth the entry process. The comments also highlight the importance of obtaining the appropriate visas, particularly the non-immigrant O-A visa for retirees, which allows for easier travel and longer stays in Thailand.

IF you have an extensive history of living here on back-2-back tourist visas or visa exempt entry stamps along with extensions of stays ANY airport entry could be problematic.
Trying to limit your exposure to scrutiny by using a less traveled airport might or might not work for you.
I'd say be prepared (proof of funds, proof of onward travel proof of lodging) and hope for the best OR take the sound advice from James and get the correct visa BEFORE you wing your way here ;)

Might I ask ??? WHY are you still worried about your entries into Thailand. As you are 60+ and from Australia, access to the O-A visa for retirement is EASY to obtain. Makes your travel and living life in Thailand STRESS FREE.
You asked last year 2018 about your options...many helpful replies given.
Small airport, I have flown through several times with no major issues. One time they seemed to get a bit confused. After years of flying into Thailand on a non IMM O multi entry, I then did a couple of entries as a tourist on arrival. On the second trip they questioned me, let me in but didn’t seem too happy. Next time out of the country I applied for another 1 year multi visa from Singapore.
I would say friendly enough.
