We are in Kuala Lumpur for ed visas. We have already been here for one month come Monday. Only one of our two have been approved so far. Does anyone have any insight into how long it generally takes? Ready to get back to Thailand now. 🥲
Answer summary
A user reports being in Kuala Lumpur for an education visa for one month, with only one of two applications approved. Comments reveal varied experiences, with some indicating that processing usually takes about 7 working days, while others recount longer waits of up to 6 weeks. Factors such as additional documentation requests and local holidays (Merdeka and Malaysia Day) may affect processing times.

I read some folks that applied for visas in Thailand while there were waiting 6 weeks and counting

Sam Williams Out school suggested KL or else we probably would have picked Vietnam also. I’m regretting not doing so

LavenderPhoenix4904 oddly enough these schools aren’t to versed with what’s feasible time wise I’ve noticed. My culinary course was the same way

Should usually take only 7 working days. Have additional documents been requested?

Lennyslife_🌴yes once for each and supplied almost immediately both times. I have read some posts saying KL is often fairly slow but we were not expecting it to be this long.

LavenderPhoenix4904 I hear you. I had only good experiences with KL in the past but that was before the e online system 🫣

Their website says apply 15 working days before your travel to Thailand. I guess you’re waiting longe than that already?

OP
Lennyslife_🌴oh yes, we applied as soon as we were settled in our hotel. But there was Merdeka and Malaysia Day so I know that likely slowed things down.
