What are the current wait times for a Non-O visa application at the NYC Consulate?
Hi everyone! I am wondering if anyone has recently applied through the NYC Consulate and had to wait more than 30+ days for their visa.
I have applied for a non-O (volunteer) visa, which moved quickly initially to "pending approval" in the online portal where it remains today. I've tried messaging the consulate on Messenger, which they were responsive to initially but did not provide any timeline.
My sponsor organization is getting nervous, as am I! Thanks so much for any help.

I have been waiting six weeks for a non. O, visiting family. They said they only do approvals for visas. Once a week.

OPAny idea what day they do it on? I have emailed them and asked for a timeline, but was just told I was "in the queue" for approval. This does make sense though!

I'd imagine that applications for a Non-O visa based on volunteering go under a lot of scrutiny as they have been heavily abused in the past. I wouldn't use applications for any other type of Non-O visa as a guide to how long it might take

I messaged them on messenger with my flight info and my visa came in the week before I left
