How Effective is the TDAC App for Arrivals in Thailand?

Today was the first arrival with TDAC. I'm a NonB Visa holder and filled the TDAC 2 days ago. The App worked fluently, within 10min. I had the download with QR code. The immigration watched my Passport and Visa but surprisingly did not ask for TDAC. When I was asking why, she answered that all data are already in her computer. Fingerprint, picture, stamp in passport and within 30sec. I was through. In my opinion the TDAC is one of the best ideas Thailand ever had, as the immigration awaits you and your data are already approved. They don't ask any question, just say hello, stamp the passport and you are good to go.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the experience of using the TDAC app for arrivals in Thailand, with a focus on the efficiency of the process for a NonB Visa holder. The user reports a smooth experience where immigration didn't request their TDAC despite it being filled out. Comments reveal mixed opinions on the app's effectiveness, with some asserting it speeds up the process while others argue it may create confusion and does not guarantee automatic approval for entry.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Got to be honest. I went through last night and don't think it's any quicker at all. If anything, slower. 1 in 5 roughly had got to the end with no dtac so then hovering around the booths and cutting back in. My anecdotal experience, has it speeded things up-no

sorry I do not talk about the queue, but ones you are with the officer it's much more relaxed and fast.

honestly mate I don't think it's any quicker once you reach the officer. Still do fingers and face on the machine. Then stamp. Anyway, have a good trip mate 👍

The Vietnamese Tourist Board love TDAC; it's doing wonders for their numbers.

It takes all of five minutes to complete and that's enough to turn folk off coming here... seriously? Imagine the uproar it will cause if Vietnam decide to introduce a similar system as many other countries have or are doing!

In the meantime, Vietnam are coining it in with tourists who can't be bothered to fill in more pointless Thai admin. I've lived in Thailand 20+ years full time and the rigmarole they put in your way has caused the loss of many acres of forest. I have to submit the same information, four pages long, 6 times a year despite the data not having changed at least for the last 7 years.

They are getting people who don't want to do pointless exercises in useless administration. KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid: meanwhile Thailand's numbers are going down the plug hole as all the dimwits are seeking pastures new.

It's not a automatic approval of anything.

You may still be questioned by Immigration if they see fit

It’s not an approval form . The immigration officer as usual has the right to deny entry
