TLDR : Answer Summary
After applying for an OA visa at the Thai Embassy in London and paying the fee, applicants typically wait about 48 hours for communication from the embassy, either via email confirming the application status or requesting additional information. It's suggested to regularly check the application status, and in cases of prolonged waiting, contacting the embassy for updates may be necessary. Sharing updates within the community about personal experiences can also provide valuable insights.

That is for non UK passport holders that have long term leave to remain in the UK.

If you are a UK passport holder, leave the residency box blank.

honestly I don’t know what I’d do without this site either. They’re so up to date on all the changes. We’re applying for an OA for both my hubby & I. We got one two years ago but things have changed since then. Hopefully this will work out well coz of all the knowledge we’ve accumulated through this site.

Hi
@Peter **********
- we’re just in the final stages of submitting our application for an OA Visa from London and have a question you may be able to help with please? On the “Supporting Documents “ list item 7 States “Proof of the permanent residence in the country where the application is submitted” Is this a second copy of our passport or is it birth certificate or something else? A bit confused? Thanks so much. Sue

I've just completed, and paid for my O-A. Screen says 'Please stay on this page. It may take a few minutes'. It's been like that for about 15-20 mins now. How long did you have to wait for the receipt?

I would say unless you call them, your going to be around about Wednesday to be in the 48 hour working day window to receive the email.

Good luck with the application.

If you keep eye on your application in the 'Pending Application' box, you may see the status of your application change.

How to contact the Embassy in the link below. Note the times to call or you will likely not get an answer. (UK times)

Please let us know their answer on how people now need to proceed if you call them

When it first started, people were told to either attend the Embassy on the appointment date or post off their application straight away. Then, reports said, the embassy started to do what they should of been doing and emailing people within 48 hours to say either the application was succesful and send the documents or they needed more information if for instance, the application wasn't completed to how they wanted it.

Perhaps somebody who has had a visa in the last couple of weeks can say what the state of play is now?

If not, then in the London online application folder, there is a post I made with the way and times to contact them.
