So I am wanting to pursue a DTV visa for medical reasons, using some chronic conditions I have (psoriasis and it's accompanying arthritis) for ongoing appointments etc.

I have run into an issue with the primary hospital in the area I'm looking at staying (hua hin) flat out refusing to provide a 'letter of appointment' or 'advance continuous scheduling' (which I take to mean more than one future appointment).

Does anyone have any recommendations for how to handle this? Are there any other options for the paperwork I would need?

I've heard good things about the traditional medicine, would those clinics count as sufficient for the visa needs? Are there any in the hua hin area?

generally speaking, the private (read: expensive) hospitals are set up to provide the documentation needed. The public hospitals don't. They are running on much lower margins and don't spend the time treating medical tourism. (not a judgement or an insult - they just tend to focus on caring for their core constituency)

Probably not interesting in supporting  a fake reason for getting a Visa. I really wonder why the Thai government introduced this category of visa. It's not going to last in my opinion.

My gf got a medical visa 2 weeks ago in Hanoi. Submitted a one year treatment plan. Make sure the hospital is on the accredited list and the treatment plan at least six months. Or you are throwing the application fee away. Make sure the application is good.

You lyst to change hospitals; mine (Bangkok Hospital) gave me the letter for the embassy without any problems. Note that I was already a patient at this hospital.

If the hospital won't support a DTV based on your condition then either the condition isnt recognised as something that would qualify as medical treatment and/ or they are not interested. Suggest you look elsewhere and see what treatments would qualify
