It's as simple as going to a visa shop and paying. At least in pattaya. It's about 25,000 for education

Be careful, they’re cracking down on people with ED visa who don’t participate in studies.

There’s not a simple answer to this question. There’s always several people who want to stay long time in Thailand without a long stay visa. If you apply for a ED visa be sure your school has good reputation and that you attend in some classes so they don’t can say you’re staying in Thailand without fulfilling the demands of the visa you’re given.

look for local visa wherever you're staying in thailand. Any day now Thailand will start giving the free 60 days with the new rules and then once you're about a month in you will need to find a local visa shop and pay for the education visa. Price seems to vary by shop but it's typically 25,000 to 30,000 for the education visa and then every 90 days you have to pay about 5000.
