Hi guys, my wife is a German citizen and we will be flying to Thailand (from Vietnam) next month for a few days before flying back to Europe. We haven't been in Europe since last year. Any idea if the visa waiver applies in this case? Does she need a medical certificate or a declaration? Thanks:)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A German citizen flying from Vietnam to Thailand next month is likely to be covered by the visa waiver program, but it is advisable to check the latest requirements due to potential changes in regulations. Currently, no medical certificates or declarations seem to be necessary, but confirming with official sources before travel is recommended.

Vietnam changed their visa rules yesterday for travellers from European countries, I guess if you’re just transiting en route to Thailand it should be ok, if not check it out on the government website.

thanks. That's right, friends from Germany couldn't fly today from Malaysia to Vietnam.. even though they haven't been to Europe since last year. Unlucky. We're already here for 10 days but wondering how it will be next month when we go back to Thailand. Fingers crossed.
