Does anyone know if 500,000 baht has to be in one account or it can be in multiple accounts?
Answer summary
The 500,000 baht requirement for visa applications does not necessarily have to be in one account; however, it is advisable to present the funds in a single account to avoid complications during the approval process. Many embassies prefer to see the full amount consolidated in one account for at least three months. If using multiple accounts, it's important to submit all statements together, highlight the total balance, and provide a clear explanation for the combined funds to ensure clarity for the embassy. Some users experienced quicker approvals when funds were maintained in one account.

Official rule is five hundred thousand baht equivalent, it does not have to be in one account, but how you show it matters by embassy. Most embassies including London prefer to see full amount in one account for three months straight for simple review. Multiple accounts add confusion and extra verification.
If you use multiple, upload all statements with same name, highlight totals, and add short cover note explaining combined balance plus summary page. Keep all accounts above threshold together each day, not moving money around to hit total on last day. Avoid large unexplained transfers between them right before apply.
You could consider reading a book or two before your trip. I’d recommend Unlock Thailand by Isla Rey on Amazon, it includes all the info and insights you need. You should check it out. A very good companion 👌.
It will make the process easier if the whole deposit is the same PERSONAL account, where they should be immediately accessible, and for the full required time of the resident Embassy.
Read the website of the intended Embassy very THOROUGHLY , as it will give valuable information.
Multiple accounts can be used, as many posts in this forum detail. Important to detail where the funds come from. Having one account quickens the approval process.
When I uploaded 3 bank accounts all had more then the 500,000 the embassy asked for proof of funds. I thought maybe I didn’t combine all the statements properly and redid it and they asked for additional documents. I finally uploaded 1 account and was approved 48 hours later. So in my experience… 1 account with the funds for 3-6 months.
