Hey everyone,

With regards to the 60 day family extension, does one already need to be on a Non-O visa in order to be granted the extension?

Cheers,

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 60-day family extension can be applied for without already being on a Non-O visa; it can be applied for on any valid entry.

I was prior on an Education visa, which has since expired. Do I need a valid visa to apply or can I do despite my visa expiring already?

That depends at the moment on your Immigration Office, normally you need a valid stay to apply for an Extension of Stay, but some Immigration offices allow people to apply.

You also can just sit back and relax and wait for the announcement what will happen after 31 July.
