Hi members

Regarding the bank details

The 800000bht or 400000bht

Which ever you choose.

Does that have to be in a Thai Bank or can you show proof and details of accounts holding in your country πŸ€”

TLDR : Answer Summary
The bank deposit requirement for Thai visas, specifically 800,000 THB for a retirement visa or 400,000 THB for a non-immigrant O visa, must be held in a Thai bank account in your name if you are applying or extending your visa while in Thailand. However, if you are applying from outside Thailand, you can use a bank account from your home country, as long as it is also in your name.

A savings account with a Thai bank

For visa applications in country or extensions the money requirement needs to be in a Thai bank account in your name only.

For visa applications outside of Thailand you can use any country bank as long as it’s in your name only.

we have a joint account, but must have double the money :-)

Some offices won’t accept joint accounts at all. Those that do require double the amount as they see it as half yours and half the other holders.
