Do South African citizens need a KITAS or KITAP to reside in Indonesia, and how does that compare to Vietnam or Cambodia?

Good evening everyone . I have a quick question we are doing the soft power Muay Thai . I want to ask I see Indonesia ask for South Africans citizens a KITAS or KITAP ( temp resident or permanent resident permit ) does anyone know if this is asked or have any information about this ? If this is true , would Vietnam or Cambodia be a better option to go and apply ?

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry is about the residency requirements for South African citizens wishing to stay in Indonesia, specifically regarding the need for KITAS or KITAP permits. Comments suggest that while the application process can be smooth in Vietnam, it might take longer without a residence permit, typically 4-6 weeks for African passport holders. The author is considering whether Vietnam or Cambodia might be more accessible alternatives for residency.

Hanoi Vietnam was a smooth and quick process (super stressful!) but totally worth it in the end.

If I read what they say on their website correctly you can still apply there but if you don't have the residence permit it can take 4-6 weeks to process your application. This is pretty typical in the region for passports from African countries
