Malaysian citizens do need a return or onward flight ticket if entering Thailand either visa-exempt or on a tourist visa. It's advisable to check the specific entry requirements listed on the Thai consulate's website in Malaysia.

If entering visa exempt or any tourist visa, then you need a return or onward ticket.
