Hello, My son (Kindergarten student) is on a 3-month non-ed visa at the moment. We need to get him a 1-year extension. Is it one of the requirements to show proof of funds in a Thai bank account to get the extension? I find different answers on the internet. I'm on a DTV visa, so I don't have a bank account here.
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around extending a child's 3-month non-education visa to a 1-year duration. It has been clarified that typically, no proof of funds is required for an education extension visa. The financial proof is generally necessary only when a parent applies for a guardian visa in association with their child's education visa. Therefore, for the child's extension, documentation from the school is usually sufficient without needing to show bank funds.
The financial proof is needed when a parent makes a "guardian visa" for himself, following the student visa of his child. If you do not need visa, your son's visa will be prolonged only based on the set of documents from his school. No money need to be shown
