TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand with a DTV visa, you are not required to show a return ticket. However, keep in mind that you will need to renew your visa after six months or leave the country for a short period if you wish to continue your stay.

Yes, i did the first time and have done so a few other times. If the check in staff ask about a departure ticket then you show them your DTV.

You should always point out your visa or checkin will normally check your passport for your visa prior to asking for a ticket out anyway.

No. You simply need to renew your visa after six months, or leave the country for a minimal length of time.
