Do I need to print all my documents for Thai visa and immigration purposes?

Dear friends,

Whether it’s for a visa, airport arrival, or an interview — you don’t *need* to print every document. But since printing everything costs less than $1, why not just do it?

Go ahead and print!

I’ve seen so many people asking the same question — for example, about the TDAC form. It’s not required, but still… why not?

It’s always better to have a printed copy just in case.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses whether it's necessary to print documents for Thai visas and airport arrivals, specifically mentioning the TDAC form. While not strictly required by Thai immigration, it's generally advised to have printed copies for safety and convenience. Several comments reflect the varying opinions on the need for printed documents, highlighting different experiences and the practicality of having paper over digital.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Of course you have to show the documentation that allows you to enter Thailand, if you want to be sure to enter on those terms.

You are wrong about TDAC, according to the official instructions found on most Thai Embassy websites, you are supposed to print out the TDAC acknowledgment mail, you receive.

Paper is so smart,

paper weighs nothing,

paper doesn't run out of battery,

paper doesn't require (forgotten) passwords,

paper doesn't auto-off after x seconds,

paper can be easily transferred,

paper doesn't require wifi.

And Thai officials love paper.

Given you can make a TDAC on a console about 10 metres before the immigration desk I'd say they don't expect that to be printed but not printing the visa is just silly

I don’t have a printer, so it is more the hassle than the costs or environment issues for me

Read the official rules ( Embassy website), before advising to circumvent them.

- How about you show them. Also, TDAC is a requirement of the Department of Immigration, not the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (embassies). Someone has already shown multiple times screenshots of the immigration department’s website that says you don’t need to print it.

⬆️ here is the Thai immigration police.

As
@John *********
mentions. There is iPads 10 m from the immigration desk…. I don’t see printers next to them.

I get it you are a stickler for the rules…. It’s just a TDAC mate… no need to let it ruin your Saturday.
