TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the requirement of maintaining a monthly income of 65,000 baht for a retirement visa in Thailand. One user inquires if they need to show this amount is deposited into their Thai bank account while they are overseas. Comments confirm that applicants must consistently meet this financial requirement, even during absences from Thailand, and that certain paperwork like a bank statement and potentially an affidavit from their home country embassy may be needed for visa renewal.

I have a question similar to the one above. I have the O-A Visa which I applied for in my home country. I just started my second year on this same Visa after crossing the Laos border. I have deposits to my BKK bank for the last year of +65k each month. When I go to immigration for my next year Visa do I show my bank book and also need a letter from my bank showing the monthly deposits?
I think you're getting the cart a little bit before the horse asking about what you'd need to do NEXT year when you need an extension BUT
be that as it may, you'd need a letter from the bank listing each international transfer for the previous 12 months into your thai bank account.
Just so you're clear, you won't be getting ANY visa from the immigration office when this 'free' second year runs out, you'll be applying for a yearly extension of stay based on being over 50 (retirement).

May I suggest you do yourself a favor and look into getting the O-A visa for retirement from your home country? No money is required to be in a Thai bank ๐ Keep your money earning interest in home country. The O-A visa will give you one year visa plus one added year if you leave and renter Thailand before end of your first year.

Yes...if you plan on applying for your 365 days/ one year extension of stay you will need to meet the requirements. Its up to you how you meet them. But being away from Thailand does not mean you can avoid making the 65,000 monthly transfers each and every month...
Do I still need to get a sworn affidavit from my Canadian embassy showing I get 65k every month

OKay, IF your consulate still issues the affidavit of income from abroad notary letter you MUST use that and they will NOT accept you transferring into the country 65K baht a month. The monthly international transfers are only for the 4 consulates that stopped issuing the affidavit letters
