I’m trying to get my non-o retirement visa for 90 days.

I’m doing this from my home country (the Netherlands)

The visa application is asking for an exit date. Does that mean I need to buy a ticket going out of Thailand?

My plan is to stay in Thailand. So after my arrival I want to extant my visa to a year.
Answer summary
When applying for a Non-O retirement visa to Thailand, an exit date is required in the application form. However, it is suggested that you enter a date within the 90-day window of your intended stay. Several commenters noted that while it is a mandatory field (indicated by a red asterisk), you do not necessarily need to provide a confirmed flight ticket. Instead, one can indicate an intended departure date, and in some cases, embassies may request a ticket later. If a ticket is required, options such as purchasing a flexible or cheap one-way ticket that can be easily canceled are recommended.

Your advice is wrong . . . The intended departure date is a MANDATORY FIELD. Do you see the red asterixes? your wires are crossed. You can try just input any date within the 90 days, and pray that the embassy does not ask you for a real, already booked ticket out of Thailand within the 90 days. If they ask, just book a cheap one-way ticket like Air Asia Hat Yai to Kuala Lumpur for 36 Euro

It doesn’t matter what you put.

Just leave empty or put more than 60 days, like 80-85 or anything like that

You can buy flex ticket, then just cancel it once you’re 12 month extention is achieved.

PurpleOtter5805 you cannot leave a field empty when it ismarked with a red *asterix.

I gave both options.

Why did you bother writing a reply?

PurpleOtter5805 because you must look for those asterixes. They must be regarded for the TDAC and the e-visa application. Different rules for different things

The asked dates are INTENDED dates, plans not booked, paid and confirmed.

So you can take a date close to a 90 day stay.

There is NO health insurance question IF you did choose the Non Immigrant O visa purpose retirement.

There is a healht insurance question IF you did choose the Non Immigrant O-A puprose Long Stay for foreigners age 50 and above (who wish to stay no longer than 1 year)

Two total different types of visa, choose this visa if you like a 90 days stay, which can be extended year after year at a local immigration without the questions for health insurance

arrival ticket from the UK to Thailand ? Book a ticket on a website that offers free cancellation withn 24 hours... print out the booking and submit with your Non O Visa application

Pretty sure you just need to enter intended departure date within 3 months because it is a required field.

But I don't think you need to upload any documents confirming any of it.

SOME embassies SOMETIMES insist on valid and real flight tickets for both the flight TO Thailand as well as for the departure FROM Thailand within the stamped stay permit you get stamped in on a specific visa type

@Greg **********
Then they will probably request that by e-mail later if you don't submit it in the initial application?

@Marianne *******
no one can tell . But I would definitely fill in an intended date of departure that lies within the 90 days he expects to get stamped in. And hope and pray that the embassy doesn't ask for a real ticket. But even if they did, you can show a cheap one-way flight ticket like with Air Asia from Hat Yai to Kuala Lumpur (around 35-40 US Dollar). You do NOT need an expensive changeable flight ticket or pay for a both-ways ticket. Not on a 90-days Non-Imm-O visa

it is definitely not a required field. Byt if you click in it it requires you to I put a date.

The answer is just leave it blank.

Edit - ignore my incorrect answer.

Sounds like you are talking about the TDAC.

In the eVisa site, the field has a red *, indicating that it it is mandatory.

Marianne is correct. Just fill in an "intended date" and the flight number that fits. If the embassy asks for a REAL ticket, then book a cheap one-way budget airline flight within the 90 days, from Hat Yai to Kuala Lumpur for 36 Euro

Guess you could put 89 days after entry.

Such a pain this e visa!

any date WITHIN 90 days from entry date. And then hope and pray the embassy will not ask for an upload of a REAL ticket

but you were not applying at the Thai embassy The Hague. It is MANDATORY to fill in the intended date of departure. It does not have to be an already booked ticket, however the embassy CAN request one
