TLDR : Answer Summary
For a Non-Immigrant O single entry visa, proof of exit is typically not required. While the airline may not ask for it, there can be exceptions at check-in, and it may be advisable to ask for a supervisor if questioned. Some individuals suggest using services like onwardtickets.com to purchase a temporary flight ticket to avoid potential issues.

I am facing the same issue. I think, just to avoid issues at the airport, I'm going to use onwardtickets.com to purchase a fake airline ticket. It's pretty cheap and probably worth it bot to have to deal with issues at the airport.

No you don't and if the person checking you in questions it , just ask to see the supervisor . It's perfectly OK πŸ‘

For immigration no. For your airline the answer should be no as it isn’t required but you may need to ask for a supervisor to clarify that if questioned at check in.
