Hi, we live in Krabi, Ao Nang. My parents will be visiting soon.

Mom's got a single entry tourist visa. She will be staying for 88 days starting from 24th November.

My father will come on Christmas day for 3 weeks and will enter the Kingdom on 30-days exception of stay.

Both of them will enter Thailand in 2019.

Now they are planning another trip to Myanmar in April 2020 and want to come visit us for another 2 weeks on the way back from the trip. They would be crossing the border by land and both getting 30-day exception stamps.

The question is, could they be denied entry due to a short break between this trips?

They are both Russians, and last time were visiting a year ago during similar dates (November 2018 - January 2019).

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is asking if their parents, who hold a single-entry tourist visa and a 30-day exception, can re-enter Thailand after a brief trip to Myanmar. They are concerned about the possibility of being denied entry due to their travel schedule. Responses indicate that as long as they are genuine tourists and not residing long-term in Thailand, they should have no problem with entry.

Usually it's never a problem to cross the border by land in Mae Sot

Do they live full time in Thailand and just leave few days a year to collect a new short time visa? Do they work inside Thailand and collect salary and call that tourism? If no and no it looks like they are tourists and somehow like the more then 39 million others, the would have no problem to enter the Kingdom.

For more information about the laws and rules, visit your local Immigration Office, I guess they will be more than happy to hand you copies of the Thai laws.

As you can read, there are NO rules about maximum days, or maximum used Tourist Visa. Stop believing those stories from people living and working illegal in Thailand and using maximum days as an excuse for their own decision to be an illegal immigrant breaking every rule in the book.

There is no legal base, the decision of entry into the Kingdom of Thailand (same as in most countries worldwide) is the discretion of the Immigration Officer. There are rules set for the Immigration officer as in section 12 of the Immigration act, this is this section and the rules of why people could be denied entry.

As I wrote, as long as they do not live and work inside Thailand, they are genuine tourist and would have no problem. If you read stories please also read the parts that 99% of those denied people live and work inside Thailand for years using Visa Exempt Entry or Tourist visa which are employment prohibited.

@Robert ******
they live and work back home in Moscow. As I said above they will be only visiting us, as they do every year since their grandson was born.

I'm asking this question as I could not find any official documents on how often tourists can enter the country and if there is a limit of days per year that they can stay here.

And read some other people got denied entry with multiple TR visas per year
