Here’s an interesting question. I have 2 passports, can I come into Thailand on one for 30 days, do a border run and come back in on the other for another 30 days?
Answer summary
The discussion centers around the possibility of entering Thailand using two different passports, allowing for consecutive 30-day stays by performing a border run. Comments reveal a mix of opinions and advice, highlighting that while some believe it's feasible, immigration officers maintain biometric data that may link the two passports. Travelers are cautioned against potential scrutiny and advised to consider applying for a proper visa or extension instead to avoid complications.

You can fly out and try to enter with a different passport. It will probably work for a couple of times and you will get more visa exemption time.

But eventually they will link your two passports together sooner or later and then it's the same thing as having only one passport

Why do people always seek to cheat?

The law is the law.

If you have nothing to hide. If you are honest and with good intentions. Then you follow the law.

Get a visa if you want to stay longer.

For god's sake. Is the price of a visa really to much?

Besides. Your question is as stupid as can get.

You seek advice on doing illegal stuff. I hope they kick you out.

I even hope immigration is looking these groups as well and block you.

It's because of idiots like you the laws get more and more difficult.

Eye and fingerprint scanner will show immigration that you have 2 passports and yes you can use both passports but they will know and question you why you are entering Thailand with a different passport, personally I would use the same one.

What do you want to achieve by doing that?

Why are you not applying for an extension at the immigration? If you are planning to stay in Thailand for 60 days, why are you not applying for a tourist visa?

What you are trying to do might not be illegal, but it will definitely raise concerns at the immigration. Immigration has fingerprints and a photo of you so they know immediately that your biometrics are also linked to another passport in their system.
Tom ******

Steve *******
Steve *******
Tom Pola Having 2 passports doesn't change your identity or your travel history. Finger prints, facial recognition, etc!

Wake up.
Steve******
Steve******
Tom Pola I would definitely challenge that.

The biometrics are stored centrally at the Thai immigration and as far as I know not linked to my passport (number) but my overall profile.

When I come now with a new passport to the immigration, I'm in a first step new for the system but when I give my fingerprints and the photo the system automatically searches the database for matches and then they will see that I have already a profile in the central database with another passport number and maybe also another name.

If it wouldn't work like that the whole procedure of taking fingerprints and photos wouldn't make sense.

But I believe you have proof that it doesn't work like that and they just take fingerprints and photos because it is fun.
John ********

Paul Jones that would be an excuse which is very unlikely given the provided set up.

Land border run is usually just 1-2 days and the immigration officer see that he left 1-2 days ago with the other passport. I would assume that they would ask them many questions if he really do it.

That depends on what you mean by "border run." You cannot change passports at a land border, as you must stamp out of Thailand on the passport you used to enter Thailand, and then the foreign land border will require you to stamp in on the passport you used to stamp out of Thailand. Same goes for the trip back to Thailand.

The only way to change passports is to fly out and fly back in.

Second, what exactly are you trying to achieve? You will not gain any extra time in Thailand doing this. You are actually asking for even more problems than using the same passport, as immigration will immediately have your full record as soon as you put your fingers on the fingerprint reader. They will see your change of passports as trying to hide something, and give you extra scrutiny because of it.
Tom ******
Tom ******
@Brandon ***********
Not true Brandon.

I also have 2 passports and have travelled in and out many times changing passports.

Fly out on one pp, have a visa for the country I'm flying into in the other one. Then return to Thailand on the second pp and enter. As the passports are from two different countries they are not linked . You're right that the same fingerprints are in the system but as you're using a passport from another country the one you flew out on isn't active in the system. Although the Immigration official can see that you have 2 passports , 2 nationalities the one your using is the only one they have access to.
Brandon ************
Brandon ************

Agreed.. and when they see you flew out x days ago they will look for that stamp in the passport you present.. and wonder why you are returning under your 'other' passport.. as in why did you make that choice!
