Finances question AUSTRALIAN

I am aussie but have a thai bank account, it is easier for me to hold my 500K in my thai bank account and then have my pay coming into my aussie account, is that allowed? and could I do half hlaf. 250K in aus and 250 in aus account. The aust embassy requirements sheet said that the 500 can be in pay slips, is that legit? have anyone done that? if so how does it work?

Also the $600 application fee is that only if you are approved? or you pay even if it doesnt go through?

thank for your help in advance
Answer summary
The user is inquiring whether they can meet the 500K financial requirement for their visa application by holding half in their Australian bank account and half in their Thai bank account. They also seek clarification on the legitimacy of using payslips for financial evidence and whether the application fee is refundable. Comments indicate that the 500K must be kept in an Australian bank account and that payslips can be used alongside bank statements but do not replace the cash requirement. The application fee is non-refundable regardless of the approval status.

It's an application fee, you pay if your successful or not. I wouldn't use a Thai bank account there's no guarantee you'll be able to keep it, DTV holders can't open bank accounts and the banks have been known to close them.

You need 500k or equivalent cash in your normal account to apply, no fixed terms, no crypto etc. If your applying under Workation you can be asked to show payslips to substantiate that but it's not an alternative to the 500k

The fee is for processing the application, so you have to pay whether you are successful or not

Don’t take risk to Thai bank, you can use your Aussie bank

you can summit your bank statement with payslips or highlight transactions

nah I meant splitting the 250k bht into aus and thai but from what I gather people said NO. the payslips were mentioned in the financial evidence (see in the image attached) but other advised me that that is in conjunction with the bank statements. its not one or the other.

thanks for the reply anyways. see ya in thailand whoop whoop

I applied through Canberra.

I moved savings from my home loan account (redraw) into a savings account I was happy to provide them with, but I moved like AU$30k (way more than required) and highlighted my weekly pay transactions on the statements, so they could see where the money was coming from (my employer)...

It wasn't a problem, but I I kept it all in 1 single account.

I agree with a previous comment too, keep it simple keeping your Thai account out of it.

Now, what I'm confused is what you mentioned about the income requirements... I'm not sure I understand what you mean about $250k in payslips plus $250k in savings...

As far as I know you have to show the $500k in an account (or multiple combined), but payslips don't come into play (happy to be corrected on this).. just make sure you apply through the right embassy, as depending on the state you live in, you have to go through Canberra or Sydney... (at least that's the guideline on it )
