Hi all, I sent an email to TEV regarding te posibility of having two Thai visas at the same time (but only one active per entry in Thailand). Their reply was positive, however I also hear that this is not possible?

Need to get to Immigration and ask this very same thing, however, is someone in this group on this situation able to provide some info? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the possibility of holding two Thai visas simultaneously, such as a Thai Elite visa and a Non-B visa, with the stipulation that only one can be active during any entry into Thailand. Members provide conflicting information: some affirm the feasibility of having both visas where the Elite visa can be suspended while using a Non-B visa for work, while others emphasize that only one visa can be used per entry, and switching between the two requires exiting Thailand.

You totally CAN hold a Thai Eilite visa AND get a Non-B visa/extension to work inside the country (the elite visa will be suspended BUT still run down the time it's valid for)

I know several elite holders who currently have Non-B extensions and work permits and work here AND who have a still valid elite visa sticker in their passport

thanks, however I think theres a BIG dfference if I were to gain my WP here now in Thailand (while Im still on the Elite visa); OR if I were to exit and re enter Thailand on a non-o or non-b that allows for a WP?

The difference being that on the first case my TEV would get cancelled, whilst on the second case would bd suspended and therefore possible to re enter Thailand in the future on my TEV till its expiry date.

, seeing as you can't get a non-B visa issued in country from an Elite visa you're talking about a moot point (AND even if you somehow were able to apply for a work permit <- (which has nothing to do with a visa) it wouldn't affect your elite visa or the entry stamp you're on from it

You have to exit the country and get a non-B visa from a thai consulate in another country in order to do it from an elite visa.

My understanding is you can not hold 2 long stay visas simultaneously (non O/A, B, ED, etc.) in the same passport. I do know that if your using 1 passport, you would need to cancel one visa to have the other affixed. Elite will not allow affixure of the Elite visa if you do not cancel the non B first (which can be done in country). I don't know what you would do to cancel an Elite visa in country to get a non B affixed.

Just by reading: Ye, you can have a Thai Elite Visa and a Non Immigrant B visa inside your passport. BUT you can only use 1 of them, meaning if you work you must have the Non Immigrant B visa with a work permit and when you do not work you can use the Thai Elite Visa.

MOST important you can not switch every hour or even every day.

When a person has an Elite Visa but wishes to work, he must apply for a Non-B visa. When a Non-B visa is affixed to his passport, the Elite visa will not be cancelled. The person uses the Non-B visa to enter Thailand and then apply for a Work Permit. In the event that the person cancels his Non-B and work permit, he must leave Thailand and return using his Elite Visa (if it is still valid)

You can only be inside Thailand using 1 visa, so you leave Thailand, apply for the Thailand pass etc due to covid, and on arrival you stamp in using the visa you wish to use until you leave.

and they add that I have to re enter the kingdom every time I wish to switch.

Its there stated, but can we really have two Thai visas at the same time (even if one of them is not active? If this is correct this is news to me, and it would be good as I have some short contracts (few weeks each) to do in Thailand, which atm Im not doing because I have a TEV and I thought that I would have to cancel it to get another visa that allows for a WP.

That reads that you would need 2 passports, 1 for each visa

actually that was their reply once I asked them to confirm their first reply (picture below) in which they state that it can be done with two or just one passports.

I know that thay have already stated it, however, the information I have from others is that you cannot have two Thai visas at the same time (even though only one of them is active). As I said I would need to go to Immigration to confirm, but maybe someone here on this situation and can cpnfirm I would appreciate it.
