Can I get an extension after my COVID visa extension expires while leaving Thailand?

My family and I are leaving Thailand on the 31st of March. However, our COVID extensions only last until March 27th. We entered Thailand on non-imm visas almost a year ago

Can we go to immigration to get some sort of extension until we leave? If so, do we need the same set of photocopies and docs we provided when doing our COVID extensions?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about obtaining an extension for their visa since their COVID extension expires on March 27th, but they plan to leave on March 31st. Commenters explained that while they may not qualify for a COVID extension, they might be able to receive a '7-day stamp' to allow them to leave, at a fee of 1900 baht, but that is at the discretion of immigration officers. Documentation similar to that provided for prior COVID extensions may also be required.

As you correctly pointed out you do not qualify for covid extensions

BUT

you might <-(as in the office is no obligated to sell the stamp to you) get an 'application for extension denied' 7 day stamp to leave thailand in a week.

You'll probably have to show you're actually leaving in a week to get that stamp and it's the same price as all extensions 1900baht.

Remember that 7 day get out of thailand in a week extension denial stamp starts counting down the day you apply for it SO don't go too early because you lose all the days you have on your current stamp when you get it (it's not added to an existing stamp like other extensions are)

thanks for the info. Do kids pay overstay (ages 1 and 5)? Just trying to figure out if it's worth it to pay for the extension.

Children under 15yo will be waived overstay fine, but still they would get the overstay stamp in their passport upon departure

Out of interest what were the paperwork and docs you needed for an extension?

I will be trying for a 7 day stamp at the end of the month by applying for an extension of some sort but not sure what paperwork's needed for a extension application.

You need the copies and original passport and TM6. You will attempt to apply for an extension for whatever reason, it would be denied, then get the application-is-not-approved-and-7days-to-leave stamp. You don't need to meet the requirements for a specific reason for an extension.

thanks Ellie. It was more about trying to get past the volunteers. From what I remember if you don't have all necessary paperwork for whatever it is you're applying for then they dont even queue you

, that depends on the immigration offices. You may get enough documents for a tourism extension.

Please make your own post if you have further questions about that.

sorry I can’t remember the exact docs. It was quite a lot of photocopies. But if you do a search in this group you’ll find them
