Good afternoon everyone,
Looking for SETV advice please.
I’m a UK national, British passport holder, 47 years old.
I’ve been in Thailand since August 2018, my Thai visa history is :
May 2018 - visa exempt entry
June 2018 - visa exempt extension
July 2018 - Returned to the Uk
August 2018 - visa exempt entry
September 2018 - ED visa entry from Penang
December 2018 - visa exempt entry from KL
January 2019 - visa exempt extension
February 2019 - visa exempt entry from Singapore
March 2019 - visa exempt extension
End of March 2019 - Visa exempt entry from Cambodia into Don Mueng- Immigration officer spoke with me about the proper use of the Visa exemption provision and informed me I needed to be on a visa.
April 2019 - visa exempt extension
May 2019 - SETV entry from Penang
July 2019 - SETV extension
August 2019 - SETV entry from Penang
October 2019 - SETV extension
November 2019 - SETV issued at Thai Consulate in Penang, has the red ink observation “This person has been staying in Thailand for a long time which may result in the refusal of visa in the future”
In December 2020 I secured a contract as a teacher at a Thai government school commencing 1st April 2020.
January 2020 - SETV extension.
Apologies for the length of this, just wanted to give a full picture. My specific question is; does anyone have experience/knowledge of SETV’s being issued after they have the observation remarked SETV, maybe as a result of the applicant being issued a contract to work in Thailand ?
For info - I travel to Vietnam- HCMC on 8th Feb 2020, and have no overstays in the passport.
Thank you 😊🙏
TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK national, who has been residing in Thailand since 2018, is seeking advice regarding the issuance of a Single-Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) after receiving a red ink observation on their visa indicating potential refusal of future visa applications due to extensive stay under tourist visas. The individual is now securing a teaching contract and questions the possibility of obtaining a SETV despite their visa history.
